Christmas With the Fam, and also some Pictures by Jen

This Christmas was AWESOME. I got a ukulele and a mug with my face on it. BEST CHRISTMAS EVAR.
I also took some kinda neat pictures that I wanted to post on here. :)
This entry, I will also be posting some pictures taken by my sister Jenny OF me, and edited BY me. Except the one of me guitarin', which was taken by my dad. I've taught them so well. :)
Overall, a very merry Christmas, indeed.
I'll be putting a few more pictures than usual up, because I got like, 5 rolls developed this time around. Usually my posts have the good ones from 2.

Starting out with Jenny's pictures (that I edited)

Then onto my pictures...

I'm dreaming of a white Christmas...

No songs were added to the playlist this time. I'll get to work on some lyric-inspired pictures. ;)
I guess all I have to say now is Merry Christmas and have a happy new year!!

And God bless us, everyone.

Christmas Time is Here...

The week before Christmas! We've been so slow getting into the Christmas spirit this year, seriously. We just barely got our tree up, and it's not even decorated yet, but it's finally starting to feel a little like Christmas. It's going to be so weird this year without my sister Sara, who's always been the one keeping up the traditions and getting us pumped for the 25th. She's in China teaching English, which is totally cool, but the coolness doesn't make her not being here any less sad.
Well, here's the latest roll I got developed. I had a couple that I was really proud of. :)

Not Christmas-y, but awesome lines.

Childhood. The BEST. haha.

The glamorous Phoebe Miller.

Oh, Phian. Too triangle for the rest of us.

"This is my winter song...December never felt so wrong."

And my personal favorite...

I shall be adding Winter Song by Ingrid Michaelson and Sara Bareilles to the playlist. :)

Have an AWESOME Christmas!! :)

Daddy-o

My dad's a pretty cool guy. He's an actor/mime/singer/father-extraordinaire. I'm a pretty big fan of my dad. Well, my dad has been trying to get back into showbiz, and therefore has been getting new pictures together to give to directors and such (I think). He recently got his headshots done and was needing some full body shots. Well, what better way to give two people what they want -- Dad gets his pictures, and I get some practice! Here are some of the pictures that I thought turned out alright.

Probably my favorite...:)
My dad's got character. :)
Sinatra, anyone?

Hope you like 'em! Maybe I'll add a Sinatra song to the playlist, just for fun. ;)

Phoebe Diane Miller

So. The other day at lunch, Phoebe and I got insanely bored and decided to go outside and take some pictures. Little did I know how amazing they would turn out, and how happy I would be when I got them back. :) Without further ado.

It goes on.

"With Lucifer beneath you...and God above..."

I have yet to name a few of them, but I just wanted them "out there" in a timely manner, so I didn't bother waiting for inspiration. :) Isn't she GORGEOUS, though? Like seriously. What a cool girl. I love my friends.

Also, I just wanted to say how insanely grateful I am to live in such a pretty part of the world. Really, North Carolina is such a beautiful place. I can't even believe it's December and I can still leave the house without my heavy coat!

Anyway...thanks for checking out my pictures. :)

The songs added to the playlist are:
Living of Love by The Avett Brothers

and I would've added It Goes On and On by The Avett Brothers, but they didn't have it on the website. Here's a link so you can listen to it anyway!

Photoshoot with Kylie :)

I had an exceptionally uneventful day today. I woke up, started writing a blog entry for 'Word' (my book blog), and spent the rest of the day playing the guitar, watching TV, and reading. I had almost forgotten about the roll of film that had been processed and was ready to be picked up, when my dad came in and offered to drive me to Walgreens. I love my dad. :)

So. The other day Kylie, Jenna, Leah and I went out to the traintracks to take pictures. Sadly 2/3 rolls of film I used didn't get exposed at all, so I only got the roll where I took a million pictures of Kylie. It's okay, though. She's beautiful. Plus she helped me get a couple concepts checked off the list, so life is good. Here they are!

"I'm just a penny on the train track, waiting for my judgement day..."

"There's nothing like finding gold inside the rocks hard and cold
I'm so surprised to find more, always surprised to find more."

"Time is all around, except inside my clock."

"Give my body back to the earth and not complain..."

And these last two I just thought were adorable of her. :)

And I really liked the lighting in this one. Click on it to see better. :)

I won't put the rest up, but I call this a successful roll of film. :) I'm not gonna lie, I'm loving using my film camera. I kind of like the grainy-ness of it. That's just me, though.

The songs in this blog entry (which are now added to the blog playlist) are:

Penny on the Train Track by Ben Kweller
Kick Drum Heart by The Avett Brothers
Time is All Around by Regina Spektor
The Perfect Space by The Avett Brothers

That's it for now, I think. I'm gonna go watch some Bones. It's the one where Hodgins takes Angela out for their first date. *swoon*. I love Hodgins...hehe. Farewell! :)

Chairs

I have many, many ideas for pictures, you guys. Like, tons. Sadly, I am but one person and many of my concepts require...people. Therefore, often I am left with nothing of which to take pictures! I've been around my apartment complex a million times and there really isn't much interesting there, and I don't want to waste film on crappy pictures, so what do I do? How do I satisfy my urge to take pictures?

The answer is located on photochallenge.org, my friends. On this website I can find photo prompts. There's a general theme, and then you just go nuts from there! Be as creative as you want. Just tie it back to the word they've told you to take pictures of. Started from the top and the first word was: Chair.

I took all these a while ago (I'm still working my way up to current pictures). I wanted to be as creative as possible, I didn't just want a million pictures of straight up chairs (although...there are probably some cool chairs out there. Maybe I'll revisit it later), so this is what I came up with -- enjoy!
